IDWTBAH Chapter 2: Hero System? Saitama?

What? Protagonist? Hero System? A voice that suddenly appeared in Ye Zai’s mind surprised him, but soon after he calmed down.

Although Ye Zai’s superpower was weak, he did gain an average-level sword technique. Obviously, it was not enough to help him survive with this technique.

The Hero System has the ability to strengthen him and make his life easier.

But his joy was short-lived because the so-called “Hero System” failed to respond to him, which irritated him.

Ye Zai irritably yelled at the Hero System.

What kind of inferior product is this? There isn’t a prompt or instruction manual. What does he have to do?

After waiting for a long time, the system finally responded. Ye Zai questioned this high-tech product because the loading time was very slow.

“Ding, the Hero System has been activated; please complete the initial job to activate the system officially.”

“First mission: Assist [Protagonist] Saitama in defeating the crab monster and laying the groundwork for his future heroic path.”

Ye Zai look confused and muttered.

“Help Saitama defeat the crab monster?”

But no matter how bad the Hero System was, Ye Zai decided to complete his first task.

Ye Zai thought about the content of the mission, then looked at the man in suit who was being beaten by the crab monster in front of him.

That’s right, it is known that the Saitama in One Punch Man was a bald headed hero.

But, the man in front of him has dense hair and is being beaten.

“There’s no doubt that Saitama is only strong after he goes bald. The bald version oof Saitama will be a nemesis to all monsters, but the dense-haired version Saitama is just a rookie hero.”

Crab Monster – tiger-level threat, a monster mutated from a human that had excessive consumption of crabs.

The monster rating is determined by the Heroes Association which established recently to deal with monsters. There are five monster ratings in total.

Wolf – Risk factors that pose danger to human life, safety, and have a certain lethality.

Tiger – Able to cause large scale casualties. Not something unarmed ordinary humans can handle and can destroy hard objects such as cement.

Demon – A crisis that may lead to a destruction of a city.

Dragon – A crisis that may lead to the destruction of several cities.

God – A crisis that may lead to the destruction of mankind.

For example, the crab monster is a tiger level monster and its defense is tiger level and wolf level destructive power. However, it was still a threat that ordinary people couldn’t handle.

Saitama, in his weakened state, was vomiting blood from his beating. Without hesitation, Ye Zai drew his sword and block the crab’s claws which was about to swing towards Saitama.

The high-priced long sword in his hand was also made with special alloys. Ye Zai’s superpowers and years of sword training, his sword swings can move small windmills.

Ye Zai thought that with his strength of able to deal with three to five big men, so it shouldn’t be difficult to kill a crab monster with a wolf level destructive power.

But after he deflected the crab’s claw with his sword, he realized that the crab was much stronger than he anticipated.

The crab’s enormous power slammed Ye Zai’s sword into his shoulders, forcing him to bend his knees. Despite his training, a regular person’s physical level could not be compared to that of a monster.

The Crab Monster smiled and looked at Ye Zai, obviously not paying attention to him.

“Another clueless guy seeking his own death. It seems that you are not an ordinary person. Are you a hero of the Heroes Association? Are you a socalled B-rank or A rank hero?”

Ye Zai did not answer the Crab Monster, but continued to resist the attack. Although the crab monster looked weird, its “crab fist” was fast and heavy.

Ye Zai seemed to remember that the Heroes Association was established by a director after his son was rescued by Saitama.

But probably because of this world, monsters came out and wrecked havoc earlier, so the “Heroes Association” was also established earlier than the original.

Aside from monsters, there are hero rankings for those that have registered with the Hero Association. The corresponding heroes would be dispatched by the headquarters based on the threat level identified with the monster.

From high to low, the heroes rank is separated into four categories: S, A, B, and C. However, because the Heroes Association was just recently formed, the number of S rank heroes was fewer than 10.

Heroes’ ranks determined the missions assigned to them, and they could improve their ranks by slaying monsters.

The crab monster’s level was “Tiger level.” In principle, a B rank or a low rank A was required to deal with this level of monster.

The majority of C rank heroes were just somewhat stronger than regular individuals.

If wasn’t for the mission forced by Hero System, Ye Zai would turn his head and leave without batting an eye.

“Wasn’t it good to just live well? Why should I become hero with a high mortality rate?”

After fighting with the crab monster for a while, Ye Zai finally found its weakness and made a vertical slash on its upper body.

It wasn’t difficult for Ye Zai to break through the crab monster’s defenses because his weapon was constructed of alloy. The crab monster angrily exclaimed,

“It’s killing me, you scumbag! I made the decision to kill you first, then get rid of that ball-chinned youngster who is scribbling on me with a pen.”

The Crab Monster’s animosity for Ye Zai seemed to rise rapidly as a result of the grievous injury, and it even changed its killing order.

The monster, who appeared to be playing the game “cat and mouse” earlier, put away all thoughts of playing with Ye Zai now that it was gravely injured, and used both of its claws fight Ye Zai seriously.

Saitama, who had been “playing dead” earlier, struggled to his feet when he noticed Ye Zai engaged in a tense battle, unfastened his suit and tie, and crept behind the crab monster.

The crab monster was so enraged that all it could think about was killing Ye Zai, and it didn’t notice the sly Saitama approaching from behind.

After successfully reaching behind the crab monster, Saitama wrapped his tie around the monster’s neck with his hand and pulled it with all his might.

After Saitama created an opening, Ye Zai made a direct and clean slash onto the crab monster.

“Ding, the quest is finished, and the Hero System has been activated.”

“Three chances to draw cards as a prize for completing the first job.”

Ye Zai collapsed to the ground and panted after slaying the crab monster. But as he heard the voice of the Hero System, he realized it was all worth it.

“This strange monster is finally dead. Hey, my name is Saitama, what is your name…”
